Passion Fruit Drink

Passiflora edulis is its scientific name and it grows as a climbing vine. In Sri Lanka, there are two species of passion, yellow color, and purple color. The purple-colored species is less acidic than the yellow-colored species. As a fruit, it has lots of health benefits. As health benefits, it contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Fibre, and other minerals. The human body needs Vitamin C to make blood vessels, cartilage, muscles, and collagen which keeps skin looking young. It also protects damaged cells and lowers the chances of getting infections and certain types of cancers. Passion fruit pulp and crunchy seeds have 8% of vitamin A which is necessary for healthy eye cells, reproduction, and immunity. Passion fruit has a lot of fiber which keeps the bowels healthy and moving and also lowers cholesterol, risk for diabetes, heart disease, and certain kinds of cancers. Passion fruit also gives the body calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and folate. “Tangee” passion fruit drink contains sweet passion seeds which gives the natural feeling of having a passion fruit for the consumer.
